The unit on the roof is a building problem, not just a repair
Commercial heating and cooling for Whatcom County — rooftop change-outs, planned maintenance and the service calls in between. Houses too.

What we look after
Most of Whatcom County's commercial stock is small buildings with packaged equipment on the roof, installed at different times by different people.
- Rooftop unitsService, repair and full change-outs on packaged heating and cooling equipment.
- Heat pumpsCommercial heat pump plant, controls and the backup heat settings nobody revisits.
- Planned maintenanceScheduled visits with a written record for every unit on the building.
- VentilationExtract, make-up air and the pressure problems that follow a change of use.
- ControlsSchedules that match the hours the building actually keeps.
- Tenant fit-outsDucts, diffusers and zones reworked when a unit changes hands.
Replacing a rooftop unit is mostly planning
The equipment is the easy part. What decides the day is the curb, the crane position, the electrical supply, the gas connection, the access route and whether the building can be without heating or cooling while it happens.
The planner asks about those, and tells you which ones will drive the programme on your building.
And the houses
Furnaces, heat pumps, ductwork and ventilation in Bellingham houses — the same instruments, the same written prices and the same habit of measuring before recommending.
- RepairsDiagnosed properly, priced before the work starts.
- Heat pumpsDucted or ductless, with the backup heat set up as a safety net.
- Ducts and ventilationAirflow measured, extract ducting fixed rather than replaced blindly.
Four stages, and you see all of them
- SurveyOn the roof and in the plant space, with photographs and measurements.
- ProposalScope, exclusions, programme and what the building has to provide.
- The day itselfLift, isolations, connections and commissioning, planned around your trading hours.
- HandoverCommissioning figures, controls explained, and the maintenance interval agreed.
Before you call
How long does a rooftop change-out take?
Most straightforward ones are a single planned day with a morning lift. What stretches that is crane access, a curb adapter, electrical or gas alterations and whether the space can be without heating or cooling. Our planner shows which of those apply to your building.
Will you quote a change-out without visiting?
No. The curb, the access, the supply and the connections all have to be seen. A price given before a survey is a guess, and the difference usually turns up on the day.
Do you do planned maintenance for property managers?
Yes — several buildings on one schedule, with a written record per unit and a call-out process that does not need re-explaining each time.
Do you work on houses as well?
Yes, and not as an afterthought. Furnaces, heat pumps, duct work and extract ventilation, with the same instruments and the same written prices.
How much would a heat pump save us?
We will not print a percentage. It depends on the building, the fuel prices and how the backup heat is configured. We will work it through with your own figures.
